Western Digital had a huge success when it first introduced the Caviar Special Edition line of hard drives. The performance and reliability of the drives was outstanding, but over time they have lost much of the innovation that made them a step ahead of the competition. The Tech Report takes a look at the new Western Digital Caviar SE16, a Serial ATA 300 and 16MB cache updated drive that still lacks NCQ.
