NVIDIA Releases Three New Video Cards to ATI's One

Thursday March 9, 2006

Today seems to be a big day of graphic card announcements from the two big companies. With the major CeBit trade show happening in Europe, NVIDIA has announced three new graphics cards, the GeForce 7600 GT and 7900 GT mid-ranged cards and the 7900 GTX high performance card. Based on intial previews around the net, the 7600 GT appears to be a major leap over the previous 6600 GT part it replaces, while the 7900 GT and the 7900 GTX are a slight bump up over the previous 7800 models they replace.

Not to be completely overshadowed by NVIDIA's announcement, ATI has also announced a new mid-ranged card, the Radeon X1800 GTO. Surprisingly this is based on their past generation graphics processor but it has a good price point and reasonable performance to go along with it.
