Week in Reviews

Friday May 26, 2006

The big news this week for PC hardware was AMD's latest processor release along with the new chipsets to support it from ATI and NVIDIA. While the performance gains from the new processor aren't monumental, it is a significant shift for AMD who has relied upon older DDR memory for its processors. The new socket-AM2 designed chips are the first to use the faster DDR2 memory. Don't get too worked up though as the X2 and FX-62 processors most of the sites reviewed are not available yet. Most retailers only seem to have the budget Sempron and single core Athlon 64 socket-AM2 models currently.

Be sure to check out the various reviews on the other items as well.
