With Gateway making a heavy push into the retail sector, much of eMachines has been lost in the shuffle. They were once one of the big suppliers of low cost desktop computer systems. The number of systems and offerings from them has been reduced heavily. Has this also reduced what they have to offer in their current budget desktop systems? Find out more in my latest review.

So far, so good. Not a hiccup even while running 4-5 windows with multiple tabs, listening the the radio and downloading programs! I notice that CNET showed it getting badly beaten in tests with the Dell 531, but they used the basic config on eMachine 5234 (for which I paid $337 after rebates at Office Depot) while giving the Dell a $150 graphics card and $75 processor upgrade which would price it at $729 after Dell’s current $100 rebate and free shipping.
