For the month of April, the PC Hardware / Reviews site focuses in on budget computing. To kick of this month, I have my first review of a sub-$750 laptop PC from Acer. The Aspire 5520 notebook has a step up on some of the other low cost notebook offerings on the market as long as one is willing to deal with a few minor drawbacks. Find out more in my review.

I have the similar acer aspire 5520-5377. Most of same features except fewer USB, no card reader, no webcam. Nice little computer for web surfing, note taking. I think the lack of a lot of bundled software is a good thing — less to have to weed through and uninstall so that I can download and use all the excellent opensource software that’s out there.
