HP's Feature Packed Budget Desktop
HP tends to provide a very solid value when it comes to low PCs. Because they are one of the largest companies when it comes to PCs in retail channels, their systems tend to have a large number of features for extremely competitive prices. Their latest Pavilion a6400f is a great example of what they company has to offer. Find out more about this budget desktop PC in my review.

Comments
I read this review (and others’ reviews) about the HP A6400F and then I bought it and it’s fine. Many people have commented about the large amount of trialware on the computer and ways to get rid of it (like pcdecrapifier). My problem is that I’m not altogether sure what’s good stuff and what I should get rid of. Here are two rough lists and I’m hoping you (or someone else) can let me know what you think.
Good stuff, don’t uninstall:
DVD Play
HP Photosmart
Rhapsody
Muvee autoProducer
Cyber Link Power2Go
Cyber Link Power Director
Cyberlink Label Print
HP Total Care Advisor
Backup My PC
Microsoft Windows Movie Maker
Cyberlink DVD Suite Deluxe
Trialware, uninstall it:
Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer
Microsoft Office, trial version
Snapfish
Windows E-mail
Norton Internet Security (maybe)
Windows Meeting Space
Windows Mail
Windows Movie Maker
Windows Photo Gallery
Windows Media Center
Windows Anytime Upgrade
Windows Marketplace
Quicken Financial Viewer Center
Any advice is very appreciated!
I purchased this desktop today from bestbuy. The salesman informed us prior to our purchase that there were alot of trailware (pop ups)on this system. However, the Geek Squad charged us 49.99 to remove everything that wasn’t necessary to make this desktop perform at it’s best. I haven’t used the computer yet, so let’s hope everything goes smoothly.
