The ASUS U6 series of ultraportables brought a unique bit of luxury to the laptop market. It was one of only laptops on the market to use leather in part of its construction. The new U6V-A1 takes the successful platform and updates its internals with the latest processor and chipsets from Intel. Does this update boost an already powerful ultraportable laptop? Find out in my review.

I’ve connected an external monitor (I used to work with an external monitor at my desk) and the quality it is not what I was expecting. I have a 22″ Dell Monitor and I’ve got from Best Buy the new HP 13.3″ DX=3500 with NVidia 9300 GS/512MB (same as ASUS but with 512MB instead of 256MB). The difference it is noticeable.
On main screen (notebook LCD panel) the resolution is neat and excellent, but I cannot say the same about external monitor resolution.
Other cons: For a Montevina processor the battery life TOO SHORT (about 2hs maximum). The touch pad also is very weak. Finally it doesn’t have stereo speakerphones.
