Intel's New Core i7 Desktop Processor
Intel's Core 2 architecture has been extremely successful for desktop computers. It was especially good for those looking for using it with very CPU intensive applications like gaming or video editing. It did have one major flaw compared to AMD's processors, and that was it was much slower at memory tasks even though it could possibly use DDR3 memory. Enter Intel's new Core i7 or Nehalem processors. They feature a completely redesigned memory controller included on the chip rather than the motherboard. Does this architecture change provide a dramatic improvement over the older Core 2 models? Find out in my review of the Core i7-920 quad core desktop processor.
