Most desktop computer systems sold for gaming are extremely expensive. They are designed for those that want top of the line performance and bragging rights. What about those who would like to use their PC for gaming but don't have the cash to buy such a system? If you aren't scared of putting together your own PC, it offers a lot more in terms of value for those willing to take the time to build a system. If you don't have a lot of cash but are looking to get a desktop gaming PC without breaking the bank, then check out my guide to building your own low cost gaming rig. The current configuration system runs between $620 and $650 without a monitor or speakers.

Great article! I encourage all to build their own computers, but watch three things.

1. Use short-fat screws on hard drives.
2. Be sure to use the proper spacers when mounting the motherboard.
3. Be carful when mounting the CPU.
