Disney Enters the Netbook Market?

Tuesday June 16, 2009

I guess it was only a matter of time before one of the largest media companies would step into the trendy netbook market. After all, they company is willing to put its name and image on just about anything for kids and netbooks are a great entry level computer. The netbook is actually going to be a collaboration between Disney and ASUS and referred to as a Netpal.

The details from the announcement found at USA Today appear to indicate that it will be a modified ASUS EeePC 900 series laptop. Two versions will be made with a "Princess" model clad in pink and a "Magic Blue" with a more traditional Mickey design. Both have unique software themes installed with various Disney and Pixar properties. No specific release date mentioned with a price tag estimated at $350.
