Mainstream desktops are those computers that are typically found between the $750 and $1250 price range without a monitor. These are systems that offer a full set of features that let them do just about any computing task. Of course, one system may be better suited for a PC gamer than someone looking to use their computer for video editing. Because of this, my list of Best Mainstream Desktop PCs reflects the various uses and requirements that consumers have. Instead of a plain list, I break down the systems for all-around, value, gaming, photo/video editing and customizable. Find out what PC I think is best suited for each of these categories.
