Netbooks appeal to many because of their extremely small size and their long battery life. The problem is that they don't have enough computing power to run many applications. Acer is one of a number of companies producing new laptops around Intel's CULV (consumer ultra-low voltage) platform to bring longer battery life to more traditional portable computers. The Timeline laptops are very affordable and promise to provide over eight hours of running time. Can they achieve such battery life without sacrificing performance? Find out in my review of the Acer Timeline 3810T ultraportable laptop.
