12-inch laptops used to be extremely common until more systems started using the 16:9 aspect ratio of TVs. Now, more and more ultraportables use the larger 13-inch screens that have reduced their portability slightly due to a wider format. Combine this with the new CULV platform that lacks DVD drives and ultraportables seem to be going away from portability and features.
