Compaq's Updated $500 Laptop

Compaq's Presario CQ60 laptop was designed as an extremely affordable laptop for those with a budget of around $500. They were able to originally do this by sacrificing some of the features that people may typically get in a laptop in order to cut down the costs. With more and more laptops being scaled back to cut costs, their price position no longer was a major advantage.
