Many people have been eagerly awaiting the NVIDIA ION platform to launch for netbooks. It offers the promise of improved graphics capabilities that include handling HD video streams and even light PC gaming. The wait is finally over now with a few of the netbooks now offering the chipset. Among these is the new HP Mini 311 netbook for just $399. The netbook features the NVIDIA ION-LE chipset that has Direct X 10 disabled though. Other features include an Atom N270 processor, 1GB memory, 160GB hard drive, 11.6-inch 1366x768 LED display, 802.11b/g wireless and Windows XP Home.
