There are a large number of new ultraportable laptops that offer extremely long battery life. This is thanks to the Intel Consumer Ultra-Low Voltage (CULV) platform that is designed for extremely low power consumption. Best Buy is offering the new Toshiba Satellite T135 laptop for just $550. The laptop claims up to 9 hours of battery life. Performance is a bit lower than a traditional laptop but better than a netbook. It comes equipped with an Intel Pentium SU4100 single core processor, 3GB of DDR3 memory, 320GB hard drive, 13.3-inch LED display, Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, 802.11b/g/n wireless and Windows 7 Home Premium. It does not come with a DVD drive but Best Buy is offering a bundle with an external DVD unit for just $50 more.
