DVD burners are now a standard feature is just about every desktop computer on the market. While Blu-ray may be gaining in popularity, the cost is still quite expensive and the hardware requirements for video playback can require additional upgrades. One thing that doesn't seem to be slowing down in PC DVD drives is their speeds. While the actual recording speeds differ very little beyond 16x speeds, manufacturers keep putting out faster drives. Serial ATA drives are pretty much standard with fewer companies making the IDE based drives. So, if you are looking to upgrade a drive for faster recording speeds or potentially replace a drive that no longer functions properly, check out my lists for the best current SATA burners.
