Microsoft made a big entry into the hardware market by introducing their Surface RT tablet to go along with their Windows RT tablet operating system. While it is some impressive hardware, the pricing leaves somewhat to be desired and the keyboard cover requires a hard surface to work on. An alternative to it is the ASUS VivoTab RT tablet which is being offering with its mobile keyboard dock from Best Buy for just $550, $50 less than the surface. It does offer a few more features than the Surface as well including an eight megapixel rear camera and a microSD card slot. The big downside here is that it is the RT version of Windows 8 meaning it isn't fully compatible with your standard Windows applications. You can see more details in my review from November.
