Dell's XPS performance desktops have changed dramatically over the years. Originally it was designed as a high performance PC gaming platform but gradually it has been downgraded to a more general performance system as the company focuses on the Alienware brand for gaming. Eight months ago, I looked at one of the higher end versions of the XPS 8500 that was priced over $1000. As with all technology, prices come down and performance tends to go up so I'm taking a second look at a more affordable version that is priced at $900. Is the Dell system comparable in features to the competition and is it worthy for those wanting to PC game on a budget? Find out in my review of the Dell XPS 8500 desktop.
