Guide Review - AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Processor
6/15/03 - AMD's Athlon XP 2500+ is their lowest price Barton based processor which can be found for around $100. Its performance levels put it at a competitive level with that of an Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHz processor with 533 MHz bus speed, but at a lower cost. This processor is an excellent CPU choice for a limited budget. With the proper parts and a little extra work, this processor can really shine. During testing with a quality aftermarket heatsink, this processor was able to be overclocked to the same performance levels as the latest Athlon XP 3200+ processor. This makes the XP 2500+ CPU a standout choice for those looking for a high-performance overclocking processor at a very low price.
