Guide Review - Polywell Poly 845GL1
10/16/03 - Polywell is fairly well known as a company that produces well crafted systems from name brand components, but the Poly 845GL1 budget desktop system only makes for an average system. It is powered by an older Pentium 1.8 GHz processor which should provided equivalent performance to many of the newer and higher clocked Celeron processors. The main advantage to the 854GL1 is the name brand components. It ships with a Western Digital hard drive and a Sony CD-ROM. While these are nice, the cost for having them sacrifices other components. It only has 128MB of memory, no CD-RW ability and no modem. The 3 PCI and AGP 4x slot allow one to upgrade it beyond what other budget systems are capable of.
