Guide Review - Acer TravelMate 800XCi
11/8/03 - Acer's TravelMate 800XCi features the Intel Pentium M processor with the Centrino badge which when it was first released was unique, but is now common in the thin and light category. Thankfully prices have dropped on the system since its release but its specifications have changed little. Hard drive size is now below average for this segment. It still features a very good graphics processor with the ATI Radeon 9000 Mobility processor. The area that this notebook shines is in expansion. It features 4 total USB 2.0 ports allowing for a large number of peripherals. Those looking for a reliable thin and light notebook would be well served by the TravelMate 800XCi, especially if on a tight budget, but there are better alternatives.
