7/14/03 - The TravelMate 650 series is billed as a desktop replacement but it is better categorized as a larger mainstream system. Its specifications place it as one of the smallest and lightest desktop replacements on the market, but in order to achieve that, some things were cut back. The Pentium 4M processor provides good battery life for a desktop replacement system and its integrated wireless provides for a wide range of connection options. Don't expect a lot of graphic power from the ATI Radeon Mobility 7500 with its small 32 MB of memory. It should suffice for most computing applications, but don't expect much in 3D performance. Another dissapointing area is the low 256MB memory configuration of the system.
