Guide Review - Averatec 3150H
10/6/03 - Averatec is a fairly new company in the portable market with the goal of selling only thin and light systems. The 3150H is the lowest cost system available from Averatec and is a mixed bag of features. While it is the smallest system available for under $1000, there are a number of areas that it is lacking. Its AMD Athlon XP-M 1600+ is woefully underpowered compared to the competition and the S3 graphics are fairly dated. It can only be expanded to 512MB of memory which could limit its expansion. The system does offer a generous 3 USB ports though and a CD-RW Combo drive. This system is best suited for those looking for the most portable system to be found at the lowest price.
