Guide Review - Compaq Presario X1010us
11/9/03 - HP has a split personality since the merger with Compaq. HP in fact does not produce any thin and light consumer laptop computers, but the Compaq line does have the Presario X1000 line. The X1010us is a Intel Centrino package featuring a Pentium M processor and 802.11b wireless. Memory and storage on this sytsem are excellent. It comes standard with 512MB of memory, a CD-RW combo drive and a class leading 60GB hard drive. What really sets this system apart is its graphics package. The system features a wide aspect ratio 15.4" LCD screen that is matched with an ATI Radeon Mobility 9200 Pro processor. This should provide an excellent mix of graphics desperately needed in this category. All of these features do have the downsize of costing more than average, but the price is still very reasonable for the level of quality in this system.
