Guide Review - Gateway M305X
10/8/03 - Gateway's M305X budget computer system is clearly targetted at users who have a variety of digital peripherals. Key to this is the inclusion of a 6-in-1 media card reader on the side of the computer for removable storage from devices such as MP3 players or digital cameras. With such a target, it is interesting to note that it lacks a FireWire connector for connecting to digital video sources. The system does make up for this with a good mix of features. It comes with an average 2.2 GHz Intel Celeron CPU, high capacity 40 gigabyte hard drive and a 24x CD-RW combo optical drive. Overall, this makes a good notebook for the digital media enthusiast even if it lacks a FireWire port.
