The Gateway 600S is a well balanced system that could use a few improvements. The large 15" LCD display has a low 1024x768 resolution and the two USB ports limit is expansion options.

Guide Review - Gateway 600S
7/16/03 - Gateway's 600S is a very well balanced desktop replacement notebook computer that has a few items that prevent it from being an outstanding one. Overall the specifications of the machine are very good. Its Pentium 4M 2.4 GHz processor should give it sufficient power to compete against a desktop system while conserving battery life. The ATI Radeon 9000 Mobility graphics allow it to run many of today's 3D graphics applications while the CD-RW combo drive rounds out its multimedia capabilities. The problems with the system lie in the display and the expansion ports. The 15" display only has a resolution of 1024x768, much lower than competing systems. Having only 2 USB 2.0 ports limits the number of peripherals that can be attached.
