Guide Review - Sony VAIO PCG-TR1A
9/21/03 - The Sony VAIO PCG-TR1A is the successor the Picture Book portable. This ultraportable system sets itself apart from others because of the included 640x480 camera mounted above the display. While the resolution and location prevents it from being used as a digital camera, it makes for a functional web camera. Using the ULV Pentium M processor, the TR1A is able to produce a very respectable battery life. The very small system also boasts an integrated CD-RW Combo drive making this a great portable DVD player for travels. Included iLink and Memory Stick ports also allow it to interface with other Sony devices. The small size requires a keyboard with smaller keys. The biggest drawback to this system though is the price.
