Guide Review - Toshiba Satellite M30-S309
11/13/03 - Toshiba was one of the first companies to offer wide screen LCD displays to PC compatible notebooks. The Satellite M30-S309 brings this wide screen display from the very large P25 to a slightly more compact thin and light system. It features the Intel Centrino package including a Pentium M processor and 802.11b wireless. Storage and memory are average for this system with 256MB memory, 40GB hard drive and 24x CD-RW combo drive. The large 15.4" LCD screen is matched with a DirectX 9 compatible NVIDIA GeForceFX 5200 Go mobile graphcis processor. This is definitely a step above normal graphics processors, but its DirectX 9 performance is not going to be stellar by any means. With the large display, the dimensions and weight of the system is above average for the thin and light category, but it is still acceptable. In the end, the Toshiba Satellite M30-S309 makes for a good all around thin and light notebook with a very impressive display.
