Guide Review - Voodoo PC Envy M:600
7/19/03 - Voodoo PC is a specialty manufacturer that gears its products towards the gaming market. The Envy M:600 is their very large desktop replacement gaming notebook computer system. It features a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz desktop processor that is matched with PC2700 DDR memory. Most laptops use older PC2100 DDR memory. Graphics are superb for gaming with a 16.1" SXGA display and Radeon 9000 Mobility processor. The lower resolution display is not bad as most systems can't handle high frame rates above 1280x1024 with notebook hardware. The problem with this system is its size and cost. It weighs in at an incredible 10.8 pounds. The price will be the biggest turn off though as it is priced a lot higher than many comparable notebook systems.
