Guide Review - WinBook C120
11/14/03 - WinBook has come a long way in the thin and light laptops since their last system the X4. With the WinBook C120, they have finally moved to the Intel Centrino platform by using a Pentium M processor and 802.11b wireless. This provides the C120 with a much longer battery life than the older X4. Base memory on the system is a large 512MB which should be good for most applications. The biggest advantage to the C120 is the optical drive. This is the only thin and light notebook to feature a DVD burner as a standard feature. This is great for those looking to do digital video with the notebook. One area that is a bit of a disappointment though is the graphics. The 14" LCD screen is average for this style of notebook, but for the price most companies use a non-integrated graphics. The C120 relies upon the poor performance Intel Extreme integrated graphics. Another suprising aspect is the weight for the system. The system dimensions are smaller than most thin and light system, but the system seems to weigh a lot for that size.
