Guide Review - WinBook J4
7/19/03 - WinBook's J4 desktop is an all-around good machine, but it lacks any particular feature that sets it apart from other desktop replacement notebook computers. The system is based on the Intel Pentium 4 desktop processors and has a wide range of configurations available. The middle-priced system evaluated comes with a Pentium 4 2.6 GHz desktop process and 512 MB memory. The display is a nicely sized 15" SXGA+ LCD matched up with a 64MB version of the ATI Radeon Mobility 9000. Connectivity options are good with the integrated 802.11b wireless. The system does lack an internal or media bay floppy drive requiring the purchase of an external USB drive. This is probably the systems only real drawback.
