Guide Review - WinBook M102
10/10/03 - Most budget systems try to limit the number of ports and features as a means of reducing costs, but the WinBook M102 has an incredible range of connectivity options. The system has an amazing 4 USB 2.0 ports plus a FireWire port. This is a lot more ports than found on competing systems. The other hardware on the system also fairs well. The CPU is an average 2.2 GHz Celeron, but it has a large amount of storage with a 24x CD-RW combo drive and a large 40 GB hard drive. There are two distinct downsides to this system though. First, the wide range of ports and components limits the battery life for the system. Second, it lacks a productivity software bundle.
