The CyberPower Fang EVO Series Cobra desktop PC is a customizable high performance model just under $2,000 that is suitable for gaming. The aggressive Coolermaster full tower case offers plenty of room and enhanced airflow with a 230mm red LED fan and two additional 200mm fans. The front I/O panel also offers two USB 3.0 ports for easy access to plug in your gaming peripherals. You can even add extra case fans during configuration for optimal airflow.

The standard Fang EVO Cobra comes equipped with an Intel Core i7-960 at 3.2GHz. If you're looking to save some cash, you may want to consider dropping the processor selection down to a Core i7-950 or i7-930. Since the system is fully customizable, users have an option to have the system overclocked by CyberPower. This is a neat feature if you aren't familiar with overclocking a machine yourself but wish to experience the added performance that overclocking affords. One technicality worth noting is that it is recommended to have parts that are made to be overclocked. For instance, the CyberPower Fang EVO Cobra comes standard with an ASUS Sabertooth motherboard, but it's worth upgrading to a board that is better suited for overclocking, such as the ASUS Rampage III Extreme or Gene.

The CyberPower Fang EVO Cobra desktop also comes standard with 12GB of triple channel DDR3 memory for $1,989. This makes the system future-proof, so your dollars are spent wisely. At the time of publication, CyberPower has several rebates going on that offer free upgrades to faster memory, etc.

But how well does this system perform in games? The CyberPower Fang EVO Cobra can now be found with the new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB GDDR5 video card. This card is more affordable than the top-of-the-line NVIDIA GTX 580 and even slightly outperforms the expensive GTX 480. The GTX 570 is NVIDIA 3D Vision-ready so gamers can play in 3D with a 3D-ready monitor. With fast DirectX 11 tessellation, this card performs well in intense games with detailed environments.

One nice feature on the CyberPower Fang EVO Cobra desktop is the fact that CyberPower didn't skimp on the power supply. The system comes equipped with a 950 watt model and options are available up to 1,500 watts. Same goes for storage. A 1TB 7200RPM hard drive is standard, but a full range of capacities and solid state drives are available.

Overall, the CyberPower Fang EVO Cobra Intel-based desktop PC is a high performance system that is capable of providing an enjoyable gaming experience. Virtually every feature is customizable right down to the number of case fans, which offers the personalization system builders love without the hassle of putting a machine together yourself. Although it's expensive at nearly $2,000, the processor and video card are high-end and provide excellent graphics and performance in the latest DirectX 11 games.
