Most aluminum cases that are currently on the market construct the front either of plastic to accent the aluminum case or of aluminum to lighten the steel frame. Lian-Li constructs all of this out of aluminum and it features a brushed finish

The door panel is a solid piece of aluminum with sturdy metal hinge and ball bearing latch that secure the door firmly. One of the first things people may notice when opening the door is the plastic striping that goes around the edges. This is to reduce the amount of noise that escapes from the front of the case. There are no vent holes on the front cover which can reduce the amount of airflow into the case.

The interior front panel has a few very interesting items. First, there is no reset button at all. This can be problematic for some situations when a computer might lock up and the hard reset button would be useful. Holding the power button for several seconds will turn off the computer, but it can be a hassle. Also on the front panel is an aluminum drive bezel for a CD or DVD drive and a floppy drive. This are useful touches that allow the clean looks of the case to remain even if other color drives are used.

One last note about the front panel is the location of the audio, FireWire and USB ports. These are positioned at the bottom of the case just below the front door panel. This is probably a useful spot for people who put the computer on top of the desk, but most tower cases reside under the desk.
