One of the biggest growing markets for computers is called the enthusiast. This a segment that is willing to spend more for top name brands and components compared to the average consumer. Among this group is a subset of people called overclockers. These are people who are willing to push their hardware past the rated limits by the manufacturers to get the most for their money. DFI is squarely targeting this segment with their LanParty series of motherboards.
The LanParty NF4 series uses the new NVIDIA nForce4 chipset and comes in a variety of versions but all are based on the same basic board design. DFI makes three nForce4-SLI boards. The LanParty nF4 SLI-DR includes a front interface panel, PC carrying straps and UV reactive sleeving but is identical to the LanParty UT NF4 SLI-DR. The SLI-D drops the Silicon Image 3114 Serial ATA controller that supports RAID 5.
Each of these boards is based around the same motherboard layout along with the features that were designed to assist users in getting the most performance out of their computer as possible. This includes a BIOS that has many more settings than can be found on competing motherboards.
One really nice feature with the BIOS is the CMOS reloaded that stores multiple settings that can be reloaded. This can assist those attempting to overclock the system because they can have various profiles for different hardware and even different settings.
