Guide Review - Fujitsu LifeBook N6010
1/18/05 - Fujitsu is probably one of the most underrated notebook manufacturers in the US. They have consistently made a very strong line of LifeBook notebook computers. Their latest desktop replacement system is the LifeBook N6010.
Powering the LifeBook N6010 is the Intel Penitum 4 538 (3.2GHz) desktop processor. This provides the system with a high level of overall performance. Matched up to this processor is 512MB of PC2700 DDR memory which is standard for this category system.
Storage is one of the few weaks spots for the LifeBook N6010. Most desktop replacements are now offering DVD burners standard. Unforatunetly, the N6010 only comes standard with a 24x CD-RW combo drive. Is also comes with an average 60GB hard drive.
Graphics on the LifeBook N6010 are quite good. It comes with a 17" wide screen LCD display that provides a lot of desktop space. Driving the display is an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 that supports the latest DirectX 9 games at fairly high frame rates.
Another area that the LifeBook N6010 is very strong is the connectivity. Included is a Gigabit Ethernet connector and an 802.11a+b/g wireless. This wireless allows the N6010 to operating on both an 802.11b/g and an 802.11a wireless network at the same time. This can be very useful in some situations.
In the end, the LifeBook N6010 is a very good desktop replacement that could have been great if they only included a DVD burner. For those who don't need the burner, this is a great choice.
