Guide Review - Fujitsu LifeBook N6410

7/25/06 – Powering the Fujitsu LifeBook N6410 is the mid-ranged Intel Core Duo T2400 processor. This attempts to balance performance and power for the notebook. The dual core processor allows excellent multitasking, something used commonly for multimedia functions. A full gigabyte of PC2-5300 DDR2 memory in included to let the system run most applications smoothly.

What really sets the LifeBook N6410 apart from other notebooks is to the storage. The system comes standard with two notebook hard drives, each having 160GB of space for a total of 320GB. This lets the system be used heavily as a digital PVR to store television programs. The drawback to all this space is the drives spin at a much slower 4200rpm rate that decreases the performance somewhat. An 8x DVD+/-RW dual layer burner is included for reading and writing CDs and DVDs.

Like most desktop replacements, the LifeBook N6410 uses the 17” wide screen LCD panel. It has an average resolution of 1440x900 that is acceptable for most uses. Powering the graphics is the Radeon Mobility X1400 processor. This is a good mid range graphics processor that allows 3D performance for gaming or general purposes.

The included TV tuner is also a nice inclusion making this a very well rounded multimedia notebook. The problem with the N6410 is its size for all the features that makes it quite heavy to carry around.
