The back panel of the SN25P tells a lot about the system. There are a total of three fans on the back panel. The smaller fans cool the hard drives that are installed along the top portion of the case rather than the lower regions of the drive cage as previous models. The larger fan is mounted inside of the 350W power supply and also helps to cool the overall case.

Below the fans is the panel with the various ports for peripherals to the system. The ports include:

  • Front, Surround, Rear, Center and Bass Audio Connectors (7.1 Audio)
  • Audio In Jack
  • SPDI/F In and Out (Optical) and SPDI/F Out (Coaxial)
  • Four USB 2.0 Ports
  • One FireWire 400 Port
  • Gigabit LAN
  • PS/2 Mouse and Keyboard
  • 9-Pin Serial (COM) Port

The audio ports are particularly good as the SN25P comes equipped with the VIA Envy24 audio processor for improved audio clarity over most of the AC'97 audio solutions included in most small form factor cases.

On the left side of the case are the PCI Express slots. The left most slot is the 16x PCI Express slot for graphics card. This is important as the SN25P does not include any integrated graphics processor. It does add to the cost of building the system but the graphics will be better than any integrated solution can provide. The right slot is for a PCI Express x1 slot. It would have been better for Shuttle to include a standard PCI slot as there are essentially no PXI Express x1 expansion cards at this point.
