Inside the package, AOpen provides a good mix of items along with the video card of course. Inside the box contains:
- AOpen GeForce Aeolus 6800 PCI-Express Graphics Card
- Users Manually
- Four Software CDs
- S-Video/Component Video Cable
- Two DVI-to-VGA Adapters
The most intriguing of the items is the S-Video/Component Video cable. Many of the modern PC video cards have the capability of outputing the display to a video monitor or television. This is typically done through an S-Video cable. With the rise of high definition televisions, the number of devices that support the component video connectors for better color and clarity is also increasing. This cable allows the Aeolus 6800-DVD256 to output to either of these connector types.
Since the video card uses the DVI digital interfaces, it makes it difficult to use with an older monitor with the analog VGA connector. AOpen has included two converters to allow each of the DVI connectors to be hooked up to older analog computer monitors.
