One of the key features that sets the Dell 2005FPW apart from the Apple Cinema display is the number of connectors that are available. In order to use all of these connectors with the monitor, Dell has included the necessary cables to use with the appropriate devices.

The monitor comes pre-configured with the analog VGA cable connected to the monitor. This is still the most common type of connection used for PC compatible computer systems and is backwards compatible with older computer systems. This can be removed from the monitor panel if this connection type will not be used.

Most newer video cards and computers are now using the DVI digital interface for the computer graphics. While most manufacturers did not include these cables due to their cost, they are now pretty standard for all new monitors. This interconnect allows for a higher quality signal to be carried compared to the older analog signal.

In addition to the two standard computer monitor connectors, the 2005FPW also includes an S-Video and composite video used by most consumer electronics. This allows the 2005FPW to be connected up to a VCR, DVD player or even a game system. Since these signals are much lower than the resolution of the monitor, the monitor will extrapolate it to fit the screen.

A standard PC power cable is also included to supply power to the monitor.
