Looking at the bottom portion of the 2005FPW monitor shows the myriad of connections available on the panel. Moving from left to right, the panel connectors are:

  • USB Hub – This is the connector that is used to link the 4 port USB hub inside of the 2005FPW to the computer system. A standard A-to-B USB cable is used for this and is included.
  • USB Ports – These are two of the four USB ports to connect peripherals to the computer system through the 2005FPW display.
  • VGA – This is the analog video connector that comes with the cable preattached.
  • DVI-D – This is the digital video connector that can be used with newer video cards to improve signal clarity.
  • S-Video – The higher quality standard definition cable that is used on most DVD players.
  • Composite Video – Connector standard to all VCR, DVD and game systems to video.
  • Sound Bar DC Output – An optional speak sound bar is available from Dell that mounts to the 2005FPW. This allows the sound bar to be powered through the monitor and not requiring a separate power cable.
  • AC Power – This is the standard PC compatible AC power connector to power the monitor.

If all of these connectors are used on the 2005FPW, there can be a large number of cables hanging off of the back of the panel. Thankfully only a few of these typically need to be used.
