Cable management is a major problem for most computer systems. The wide range of cables connecting peripherals with the base computer system and power cords can make any desk a total mess. Apple addressed this with a custom cable that ran from the monitor to the computer to hold the video, USB and FireWire signals. Dell has opted to include a small rubber cable holder on the back of the monitor stand.

To properly use this cable holder, the necessary cables are inserted into the holder by sliding the cable through the slit to one side of the holder. This can securely hold a number of cables, but it would be a very tight fit if all of the connector options on the 2005FPW are used.

Another key note when using the cable holder is to properly connect the cables so they have the appropriate length necessary for the monitor to be extended or rotated to the desired position. If the cables are put too tight from the holder to the lower connectors, it will make it difficult to later tilt, rotate or lift the monitor from the installed position.

At the base of the monitor stand there is a button visible. This button is used to adjust the height of the monitor stand. It is in a fairly difficult to reach spot on the monitor but once the monitor is put at the desired height, there is little need to adjust it.
