Controlling all the inputs and features available on the 2005FPW monitor requires a fair number of buttons on the monitor. From left to right, the button functions are:

  • Input Select – This cycles through the four available video inputs from VGA (D-Sub), DVI-D, S-Video and Composite in that sequence.
  • PIP Mode – This button will cycle through the picture-in-picture and the side-by-side mode between multiple video inputs.
  • Menu – This brings up the OSD menu as well as selects highlighted items in any of the menus.
  • Minus – Adjusts the selection bar down on menus or adjusts values such as brightness and contrast down when selected.
  • Plus – Adjust the selection bar up on menus or adjust values such as brightness and contrast up when selected.

The picture-in-picture feature is a nice touch, particularly if the user wants to do something like watch TV when working on the computer. The side-by-side mode is a lot more difficult to use though. Since the screens are shrunk to be side by side, fonts will often become unreadable unless the resolution is dropped.

One function that is very useful is the scaling. This lets a lower resolution be scaled to either fill the screen, actual pixels or a vertical fit. This is particularly useful for PC gaming that does not support widescreen.
