NVIDIA had a rough time in the market with their GeForce FX series of graphics cards. They repaired much of their reputation with the later series cards, but it is the new GeForce 6000 line of cards that have brought them back to the foreground of the PC graphics card market.
eVGA is a no frills company when it comes with graphics cards. While many other companies offer software bundles or extra features, eVGA opts instead to just include the basics to make for a low cost card that meets the needs of more consumers. This allows them to have a key price advantage over many competitors. While many other companies have also started selling both NVIDIA and ATI graphics cards, eVGA is still just sells NVIDIA based boards.
The GeForce 6800 GT is the middle product of the highest graphics processor offered from NVIDIA. Its most notable feature is the fact that it is a single slot card solution that also features the SLI connector to allow users to run two cards to improve graphics performance. This is something that will be tested later on in the benchmark sections.
