Ever since the GeForce 6800 series of processors, NVIDIA has integrated many video capabilities into the core of their graphics processor. NVIDIA's marketing term for this is PureVideo. To handle these video functions, a video breakout box is included.
The box connects to the video card S-Video connector and then allows for a variety of connectors. On the front of the box are the output connectors including an S-Video connector and a component video connectors for HDTV signal capabilities. On the back side of the box are two input connectors, one S-Video and one composite. This means that the board is capable of outputting to a HDTV, but can only handle standard resolutions for input.
It should be noted that to use the video in capabilities of this breakout box, the user must download the WDM driver from NVIDIA as the driver is not included anywhere on the driver CD provided by eVGA. This is a huge oversight considering the inclusion of the breakout box.
The included Cyberlink PowerDirector ME software allows for the user to capture video sources and encode them onto media for the net or home use. The biggest flaw with this is that the software lacks the ability to record to DVD, a feature that many people converting older camcorder tapes would really want.
