Apple's support web site is very much focused on information specific to the product you are having problems with. The best way to find information is to drill down to your specific model product from the front page. This gives links to the most common questions, downloads, discussions specific to the product, How To documents and troubleshooting. If you can't find information there, their search function works very well and you can always sign up for personalized help at the Genius Bar at a local Apple retail store.
