Description
Guide Review - Fujitsu LifeBook P70109/14/04 - Fujitsu's P series of LifeBook notebook computers have been extremely popular because it is one of the few complete ultraportables to feature an internal optical drive. The P7010 is the latest version which a number of updates that continues to make the P series a top ultraportable. Powering the P7010 is the new Intel Pentium M 713 1.1GHz Ultra Low Voltage processor. This gives a slight boost in the performance of the P7010 while still allowing it to have a very strong battery life. Matched to this is 256MB of PC2700 DDR memory. This is really the minumum amount of memory recommended for use with Windows XP. Storage is really where the P7010 shines. The system had a sizeable 40GB hard drive, but the unique feature is the internal optical drive. It comes standard with a 24x CD-RW Combo optical drive. This makes the P7010 a great all around computer, not to mention a great little portable DVD player. It also has slots to accept Compact Flash, SD and Memory Stick media cards. The display on the P7010 is a 10.6" WXGA display. Its 1280x768 display allows for a lot of screen space, but the relatively small size can make it difficult to read at times. It uses the Intel Extreme 2 integrated graphics which does use a portion of the system memory. This can cause slowdowns in the system. The only real drawback to the P7010 is its size. The reduced size for the display can make viewing it difficult and also requires the keyboard size to be reduced to fit it all. |
