Bios chip for 1055T CPU
- I purchased a MB from Newegg and I come to find out the CPU is not supported without a newer BIOS version. The only way to do this is 1)ship the MB back to the manufacturer 2)Purchase a low end CPU so I can start the PC and flash to a new BIOS or 3)Order a 5 $ BIOS chip, Now I went with option 3, only to find out the shipping costs were in excess of 50$ for Fedex. Talking with the ASUS rep and they tell me thats what Fedex charges, yet those funds goto ASUS for shipping not the shipping company. This makes absolutly no sense. I use Fedex for International orders (USA to Canada) all the time and they're never that much, let alone for mailing a legal sized envelope. I build PC's as a hobby for the area I live and needless to say I will never use ASUS based products in my builds again!

BIOS Chip Replacement for an ASUS P5Q D
- My main workstation required BIOS chip replacement due to power issues and a failed BIOS update. After doing some extensive research on the ASUS Support Forums, I contacted ASUS Motherboard support and explained the situation. In short order a case file was created and I was transfered over to the BIOS Department where Parri Darnell took over and arranged the shipment of the new BIOS chips. My experience was first class, and I'm very satisfied.

Great Experience
- Had a great experience with Tech Support and the BIOS replacement department. Tech Support was understand and able to provide me with information that wasn't available in the manual. Call was answered and resolved in a timely manner.

Satisfied w/ Asus Response&Support Teams
- I had a Mobo which gave me a black screen and no beep when I tried to POST. Spoked to Brittany/Customer Service and Parri/Bios Dept. and a handful of Guys/Technical Support I find "all of them" to be Courteous, Competent and Confident. I would not hesitate to buy another ASUS product and communicate with them again, if only to put their phone number on my Speed-Dial. :)

bios crashed
- While updating my bios, my system crashed, dead. With a phone call to ASUS, a new bios chip was shipped to me, and my computer is now alive again. Thank you ASUS. The persons and support were perfect. I will be building more ASUS systems. Thank you.

Asus Helped me out !!!
- I wanted an updated bios for my Rampage 2 Extreme motherboard. Called Tech support they mailed me one but I had to pay for shipping, chip was free under warranty. I could have flashed the ols Bios chip, but sometimes problems happen when flashing. To other people with negative responses, Other motherboard manufactures have their bios chips soldered into the motherboard. Be happy YOU CAN GET THE CHIP AND PAY FOR THE SHIPPING

My next Mobo is not going to be ASUS!
- Well, I love the fact most if not all ASUS motherboards come with removable bios chips. It's so much easier to simply replace the chip instead of shipping the whole motherboard and have either re-flash or replace the mobo. BUT, I live in Canada and the shipping costs is way out of this world. It would have costs me much cheaper to just buy the bios chip off eBay.ca than get it through ASUS's warranty service. The S & H costs me in excess of $50. That is not fair for the customer which purchased a product under warranty then makes the customer pay for that product which requires replacement. ASUS needs to rectify there Customer Support/Warranty ASAP. Right now I am not going to recommend ASUS, I am not going to buy an ASUS product and the only way I will purchase an ASUS product is when they pay in "FULL" for me to get the defective product to them, and for them to send me the replacement all on ASUS's cost.

No more ASUS for me for now!
- My bios chip went on my Asus motherboard. I contact ASUS via e-mail and they got back to me quite fast. The problem is I get the bios chip free due to warranty but I had to pay for S&H along with duties and other applicable taxes. Came to approx: $60usd w/FedEx to come to Canada. WTF? They should have at least cover the shipping costs due to the high price. If I lived in the USA it would have costs me less than $5 for shipping. What a ripoff IMO. And they refused to use USPS whch would have cost me much cheaper..

Needed bios chips.
- It was unfortunate that I needed them right after the holidays. Not just ASUS but every mfg. is swamped. It took a long time to get the right person on the phone but once I did the chips were in my hands the next day. At least you can talk to somone in the USA. Be carefull what you blame on the hardware. Malware has been so prominent that it's more likely to be the cause of many problems. Worse yet there is malware that can infect the bios that makes it very hard to get rid of the virus. I made it easier for myself by getting back up bios chips. Thanks ASUS. Tanks also to Parri who got mt chips out in a hurry.

Horrible Customer Service
- I have an Asus EEE PC 1000HE, and recently it fell off of the arm of my couch maybe 2 feet max and the screen shattered. Ok, so I call up Asus, which is a run around just trying to get someone on the line. I get a hold of someone and I wanted an estimate on the repair. They tell me they cannot give estimates over the phone and that I'd have to ship it to them so they could check it first. So I have to pay shipping to get it there, just to find out what the LCD monitor+labor is going to cost on a $380 netbook... and if I said no to their price, they'd ship it back, but again I'd have to pay. So atleast $40 just to find out what it'd cost to repair. Long story short, after days of arguing and them telling me there was absolutely no way for me to get any kind of estimate whatsoever, I ended up looking up on youtube how to replace the LCD screen myself, and ordered a replacement online for $80, and sprung $25 for a 2 yr accidental warranty on the screen. I am disgusted with Asus.

Horrible Tech Support
- Bought 1005 Netbook. Arrived. Unpacked. Put in upgrade memory. Turned it on. Worked. Connected to net. A ok. Turned off computer. Tried later in the day. Then the trouble began. Couldn't connect to net. Tried wireless and my DSL. Nothing. Began the calls to tech support. Got thru after 3 calls. On hold for about 15 minutes. Finally answered by someone wasn't very helpful (low knowledge)...and then she dropped me. Called back in. Got someone else. She said, "Sure I can help you, but, I've got to go get that particular computer to assist you. Mind if I put you on hold?" HUH? Placed on hold...10 minutes later, call disconnects. Called back in. Some receptionist took my information and promised a call back withing an hour by a supervisor. Couple hours go by. I call Amazon. Computer being returned for thankfully a full refund. The reviews were good regarding Asus netbooks, but, just hope you don't need any help or service. Try googling Asus service before you buy. ;-)
